The YOUG POWER PROJECT, a charitable initiative within
the near4rest Chapter 02, has been implemented in Baidi
Township where a communal sheep pen has been
constructed for the village.
Baidi Township, nestled within the picturesque “Yamdrok
Lake,” boasts rolling hills where numerous sheep graze
against a backdrop of natural landscapes. The primary
economic activities here revolve around animal husbandry
and traditional farming. Despite the pastoral setting, the
village lacks proper sheep pens due to economic
constraints, resulting in makeshift wire fences.
Baimawangqing, the head of Baide Village, notes, “Without
proper sheep pens, the sheep are vulnerable to attacks by
wolves that come down from the mountains at night.”
Consequently, near4rest has designated an area on a slope
of approximately 344 square meters in Baidi Township for
the creation of a public sheep pen. The design, shaped like
the near4rest logo, incorporates practical elements such as
awnings and water troughs. It is poised to accommodate
up to 500 sheep for the entire village, with a 2-meter height
designed to deter wolf invasions
near4rest aims not only to provide economic assistance to
the villagers but also to support their industries and way of
life in a sustainable manner. The project is intended to
contribute to maintaining a balance between humans and
animals, as well as between animals and the natural
environment.
near4rest Chapter 02 is not merely a contemplation of
nature’s gifts but a symbiotic integration with sacred forces,
including local culture and the wisdom of the people. In
doing so, it aspires to absorb this energy and radiate it to
the world.
